Concrete Tank Repair
Our experts in global concrete scanning and repair demonstrated exceptional proactivity. The Structural Repairs team conducted a comprehensive inspection and determined the optimal course of action for remedial repairs. The repair of a concrete tank focused on advanced techniques and materials, including crack injection and crack stitching with carbon fiber products.
The optimal approach involved utilizing the latest Fortress Composite Reinforcement Grid Products, alongside epoxy resin. Specifically, these included Segmental Kevlar, Double T Anchor, Carbon Staples, and other products that have been extensively tested and proven to be the strongest and most reliable concrete reinforcement solutions available on the market.
The process involved multiple stages, starting with assessment and preparation, followed by crack injection into the floor and crack stitching using carbon fiber.
To address the cracks in the tank floor, we utilized a crack injection technique. This method entails injecting a specially formulated resin into the cracks to seal them and restore the concrete's structural integrity. The injection process ensures deep penetration of the resin into the cracks, filling all voids and creating a waterproof seal.
Additionally, we conducted crack stitching using state-of-the-art carbon fiber products. This technique involves placing stitches or staples across the cracks to hold them together and prevent further movement. Carbon fiber, known for its high strength-to-weight ratio and durability, provided an advanced solution. These carbon fiber stitches were strategically installed across the cracks, enhancing the tank's structural integrity and ensuring a durable repair solution.
