Structural Repairs Reveals Graffiti Incidents & Removal costs Across The UK
REPORT ON GRAFFITI IN THE UK
6 FIGURE SUMS WERE SPENT ON GRAFFITI REMOVAL BY COUNCILS ACROSS THE UK.
Between August-October 2020, Structural Repairs requested data from 379 councils in the UK. By using Freedom of Information and Environmental Information Regulation requests, the councils were asked to provide the number of graffiti incidents recorded, and the amount spent on graffiti removal, in 2019.

TOP 10 COUNCILS WITH THE HIGHEST SPEND ON GRAFFITI REMOVAL:
Out of 379 councils that were surveyed for information 242 councils provided the number of related incidents, 127 councils provided the amount spent on removal. 37 councils do not record the number of related incidents and 46 councils do not record the cost to remove graffiti.
130 councils include graffiti as a part of their overall street cleaning service/contract and a result cannot extract either the actual incidents or costs, or both. At the time of publication 107 councils are yet to provide a response.
