In the anaerobic environment of sewage systems, concrete faces its deadliest enemy: Microbial Induced Corrosion (MIC).

Bacteria produce Hydrogen Sulphide H2S gas which, upon contact with moist surfaces, converts into Biogenic Sulphuric Acid. This acid eats through concrete cover at an alarming rate, risking structural collapse and environmental contamination.

We deploy specialist commercial dive teams and aquatic ROVs (Remotely Operated Vehicles) to carry out structural surveys, silt removal, and scour protection works underwater.
