Hanwell train station, a historic build categorised as a Victorian Grade 2 Listed Building, is defined as a UK structure that is “of special interest, warranting every effort to preserve it”. The station, serving stops at and between Mansion House and Windsor, was worn down and in need of structural repairs to bring it back to its full health.

Project Details:

Completion Date: October 2020

Project Type: Timber Resin Repairs

Location: Thornton Heath

The Problem:

As an aged and historic Victorian Listed building, Hanwell Station was in rough condition with an extensive amount of rot haven being found on many of its oak beams due to beetle infestation. In addition, some of its canopy support beams had suffered damage and had been found to be split.

The Solution:

Once we had arrived on site, given a professional verdict on which repairs were necessary in order to bring this beautiful train station back to life and had attained repair consent from the relevant authorities, our work began! We carried out extensive timber repairs, routed out the centre of the canopy support beans, implanted reinforcing bars and poured in some powerful epoxy structural repair resin.
