Sure, Graffiti is a form of art that can be used to express the feeling and the massage of street artists on certain platforms with a bunch of aerosol cans, and it can be put out in many different terms. Yet, it can also be a massive issue for the authority to deal with (the bad ones).

 

In the past few months, we made a request to each council to provide us the findings on the graffiti incidents and removal cost that had been carried out last year. We collected the data from 379 councils across the UK by using Freedom of Information and Environmental Information Regulation requests. Shockingly, the research found that the number of graffiti incidents and the expense of graffiti removal can be varied. However, in certain councils, the graffiti incidents recorded were beyond 10,000 and the amount spent was very high; close to £1M.

 

Please bear in mind that this research shows only 2019 alone! The biggest amount spender on graffiti removal is Glasgow council with £649,914 and the highest number of graffiti incidents is Hackney council with 29,236.
