The Problem:
The De Vere Beaumont Estate Hotel in Old Windsor was in dire need of a comprehensive treatment as remedy for the damage some of its timber had suffered as a result of its woodworm infestation. Some of its timber, such as the existing roof, had been completely damaged and was found to be in a fully dry rotten condition from death-watch beetle infestation.
The Solution:
As a remedy, we created new beams and new pieces of timber and exploited them into the old beams by bolting on a metal plate, one the two were connected together, as a means to strengthen the whole structure. We further treated the timber to prevent any further deterioration.
