Reading High Street
Some of Reading’s iconic and historic High Street listed buildings were in dire need of undergoing structural repairs and restorations as a means to bring them back to full health. With beautiful terracotta façades, we made sure to take utmost care when restoring these outstanding buildings.
These beautiful listed builds, situated on Reading’s High Street, had accumulated a vast amount of debris as they were due a structural clean. In addition, damage had likewise been found to their structure and façade such as cracks and worn down brick surfaces.
To restore the façade of these builds, we firstly underwent a thorough and extensive cleaning process. We then proceeded to undertake repairs to elements such as the brickwork and terracotta which included crack stitching with structural support. We further inserted steel rods to the chimneys as they were found to be in unstable conditions. While conducting these repairs, it was important to consider the colour of the façade we were working with. As a result, we made sure we conducted careful and precise colour matching when restoring the brick elements.
